When it comes to decorating the tree, the less complicated the better, so it probably comes as no surprise that once again, pre-lit Christmas trees are becoming a popular choice.
There's an obvious reason for this – a tree fitted with lights not only saves you money because you don't have to buy fairy lights, but it also means you can spend less time decorating – all you need to do is apply the baubles and tree topper and you're done!
It seems that having to avoid de-tangling Christmas lights is an appealing prospect to many, as John Lewis predict that by the end of this year, pre-lit trees will make up more than half of all those bought from the retailer.

Last year, John Lewis sold 30 per cent more pre-lit trees, and this year, they expect that growth to continue by a further 20 per cent.
This Christmas really has been a year for unique, personalised choices with many tree trends emerging. We've had the half Christmas tree and the upside down tree, as well as the pink tree and the extendable one. And let's not forget the double Christmas tree trend, which sees households with two decorated trees – one for adults and one for kids.
